These terms cover how orders, deliveries and returns work when you buy berbere, mitmita, shiro powder or any other blend from our shop. They apply from the moment you place an order until the transaction is closed, and they sit alongside our privacy policy rather than replacing it.
Every listing states the spice, pouch size (100g, 250g or 500g), grind coarseness and the harvest month noted on the batch. Whole korarima and besobela are sold as they arrive from the mill; ground blends are milled to order. If a batch note differs from what you expected, tell us before opening the pouch.
An order is confirmed once payment clears and you receive a confirmation email. Mixed baskets, gift sets and repeat orders are handled the same way. We may decline or cancel an order if stock from a specific harvest run is exhausted, and any amount already paid for that order is returned in full.
We ship across South Africa, including Johannesburg and Cape Town, using tracked couriers. Delivery windows are estimates, not guarantees. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Inspect the parcel on arrival; report damaged or leaking pouches within 48 hours with a photo so we can replace the item.
Because spices are a food product, we cannot accept returns of opened pouches. Unopened, resealable pouches can be returned within 14 days of delivery if the seal is intact. If a blend is faulty, mislabelled or the wrong grind, contact us and we will replace it or refund that item.
You agree to give accurate delivery details, to store pouches sealed and away from heat and moisture, and to use the spices as food ingredients only. Recipe cards for doro wat, misir wot and kitfo are guidance, not medical or dietary advice. Check allergens and heat levels against your own needs.
Our liability is limited to the value of the affected order. We may update these terms to reflect changes in sourcing, couriers or law; the version in force is the one published when you order. South African law governs these terms. Legal questions: info@ethiospices.com.
